Sources, and what each one proves
Four public sources and one preview. Each is used for a named set of fields, and no field is filled from anywhere else. The list is short because the public record for a draft in ballot is short.
| Source | What it proves |
|---|---|
| The ISO record for the draft | designation, edition, stage, stage date, committee, ICS and page count |
| The ISO record feed for the draft | the machine-readable copy the refresh script reads |
| The ISO record for the 2009 edition | edition, page count, abstract, review history and the replacement notice |
| The ISO record feed for the 2009 edition | the stage history the refresh script compares against |
| Publisher preview of ISO/IEC 9798-5:2009 | contents, foreword, introduction, terms, notation and clauses 4 to 4.2 |
What no public source proves
The DIS text, the close of voting, the approval date, the publication date and any national adoption date. Those are not on this site as facts. The planning date is labelled an estimate wherever it appears, and its basis is stated on the revision page and in every result.
The preview, and its limit
The publisher preview of the 2009 edition exposes the contents, the foreword, the introduction, the terms, the notation and clauses 4 to 4.2. It stops before the later mechanism clauses, the annexes and the bibliography. Pages for those clauses therefore record the obligation from the contents and the introduction, and say that the clause body is not public. That is a limit of the record, not a gap filled by guesswork.
